The sounds of laughter echoed through the hallways, someone was delightfully happy. The laughter came from a seventh year girl named Bellatrix Black. The one and only. She was surrounded by her friends as they walked away from the terrified first years whose noses wouldn’t stop bleeding. Sure there was consequence to it, but Bellatrix wasn’t the kind of person that really cared of what would happen. The Slytherin girl walked backwards as she blew a kiss to the kids before turning the corner and continued on her way to her next class. That put her in a good mood, what also put her in a good mood was that it was charms class next. It was hard to figure out why Bellatrix was so cruel yet her marks were outstanding.
Tossing her hair behind her back as she entered the room and took her seat, right in the back of the room, where she can keep an eye on everyone. Bellatrix didn’t trust anyone standing behind her, not with the amount of enemies she was accumulating over the last seven years. Taking out her quill she playfully ran the feather across her chin as she thought. It was her last year, what was she going to do? This summer she know doubt knew that she would be married and would expect to birth a son. She knew what was expected of her and she’ll do it…even if she was less excited about it.
She took out her wand and twirled it, it looked like a claw – which Bella always loved about it. Biting her lower lip she waited until a Hufflepuff went to take his seat and she moved her wand to the side, pulling the chair out from underneath him causing to fall. Those inside the classroom started to laugh – the poor guy got up and was red as a tomato. That caused for more laughter. Bellatrix wasn’t one for pranking, when she did it was usually for causing some blood. Though her fun was cut short when someone took a seat next to her. Great.

Post by RODOLPHUS ROBERT LESTRANGE on Nov 28, 2012 18:45:37 GMT
Rodolphus Lestrange walked to charms class with his trademark smirk on his face, ignoring the kids scurrying around him, hurrying to class. Rod never hurried anywhere; he took his time. His bag was slung over his shoulder, and he walked alone. He wasn't happy about going to charms, but neither was he unhappy about it; Rod excelled in everything, getting the kind of marks that should be expected from a Lestrange. Being pure blooded meant being more magical, better than everyone else, so getting less than top marks- especially if it meant being out scored by a muggleborn- was unacceptable. Luckily, Rod never had to worry in that department. He and his brother were naturally intelligent.
The smirk on his face was all thanks to a little game he was playing with Vivian Blackwell and Theodore Nott. Blackwell and Nott were unwilling participants, and Rodolphus was getting all of the pleasure from it. But that was what made it so fun. He had enjoyed torturing Theo and causing him pain more than he had thought he would. Rod had very much enjoyed the look on Theo's face when he'd told him exactly how he had been with Vivian, who was now Theo's girlfriend. Rodolphus would have left him alone if Nott hadn't stupidly punched him in the face for making a comment about Vivian, but now Rod wanted to get back at Theo, and what better way than through Vivian?
But as interesting as his game was, it was his reaction to it which had given him food for thought. He had liked causing Theo pain. Of course, it had only been emotional pain, and nothing like what Rod himself had known in the past, but still... he wanted to do it again, and more, worse this time. It made him think about causing other kinds of pain. He wanted to explore this. Sometimes he even found himself wondering what it would be like to torture someone the same way he and his parents had been tortured.
Rodolphus' thoughts were interrupted as he made it to charms, just in time to see a Hufflepuff fall on their arse. His chair had moved backwards, but no one was standing near him, and it didn't take long to locate the source of the mischief. Bellatrix Black was sitting at the back of the classroom, her wand out, laughing.
Bella was a pure blood, like Rod, and the two were engaged to be married. Well, not officially. That was a way off, yet. When they graduated from Hogwarts their engagement would be announced, and soon after that they would be married. Rodolphus didn't love Bellatrix, and he was sure Bella didn't love him. He wasn't all that interested in her, but his father had made the match for him before he had died. Rod idolised his father, and always wanted to make him happy, make him proud. That was even more true now that his father was dead. If his dad had wanted him to marry Bellatrix Black, then that was exactly what he would do. His father was a good man, a strong man, and he knew what was best. And even though Rod didn't have any romantic feeling towards Bella, it had to be said that he thought his father had picked well. Bellatrix was as pure blooded as they came, with a hatred of muggles and muggleborns to rival Rodolphus' own.
Rod went and sat down next to Bellatrix. It was only fitting, considering the two of them were to be wed. In one year they would be engaged, if not already married. "Having fun?" he asked, sounding slightly bored and like he didn't really care what the answer was, as he pulled his books out of his bag and placed them on the desk in front of him.

The Slytherin’s blue eyes looked over to see one Rodolphus Lestrange sitting next to her. It didn’t take a genius for anyone to realize that he wasn’t interested in her answer if she choose to give it. ”No. It isn’t fun until someone bleeds my dearest Rod.” The Black girl leaned back in her chair and turned slightly so she was looking at him, her wand just at the top of her mouth as if she was pondering. He never sat next to her or acknowledged her, the girl knew his reputation. Sadly Bellatrix couldn’t afford to sleep around; no she had to keep her innocence. She didn’t want a scandal that would bring shame to her family and end up having them disown her. Sometimes Bella really hated being a female, too much rules and standards to keep up with.
But that didn’t keep her from flirting with others, not that they were lining up. She wasn’t exactly the most lady like, truth be told she intimated others. Wasn’t her fault that they didn’t know how to handle her. It might also be the fact that it wasn’t any new of who she was suppose to wed once she graduated, having a Lestrange on their bad side was just as worse as having a Black. Whatever the case, Bella wasn’t all that bothered, though she wasn’t all impressed with Rod reputation – Bellatrix didn’t like sharing.
”Why are you sitting next to me? You never had done so before?” Bellatrix leaned close so that the conversation was just between them too. No use of having another party over hearing them, especially when it didn’t concern them. A smirk played upon her lips as she looked at Rod, class hadn’t started yet so she wasn’t paying attention. The dark hair girl let her eyes give him the once over, as if she was judging him. When her parents told her that she was to be married she had no idea to who until her first year at Hogwarts. She was upset but overtime she just knew it was going to be – there were far worse matched out there than him. Her parents did her well for the first time in her life.
Her blue eyes traveled away from him and up to the front of the class as she saw the professor gathering the material they would needed for class and what they would need for the NEWTS this year. She hadn’t decided on a career, like she would ever get a job. Was a Death Eater a full time job? She didn’t have to worry about money that was for sure, as part of her families fortune would go to her and in return it would be combined with the Lestrange fortune. Her eyes catch glimpse of the Hufflepuff she tormented just a few minutes before. With a subtle movement of her wand, the chair broke and the student fell, hitting his head on the desk, causing his nose to start bleeding. She leaned forward and placed a hand under her chin. Her eyes danced at the sight of blood, to bad she couldn’t do worse. There were a couple of curses she would love to experiment on him, maybe later.

Bellatrix said that it 'wasn't fun until someone bleeds', and Rod gave a slightly derisive snort of laughter. Bella was always so melodramatic. But even so, it drew Rodolphus' mind back to his previous train of thought; the possibilities that torture held. 'Its not fun until someone bleeds...' Why did that statement pique is curiosity?
Their professor started speaking, although not anything to take notes on yet. He was talking about the NEWTs, the exceedingly difficult exams that they would be sitting at the end of the year. Naturally, Rodolphus wanted top marks. He wouldn't accept anything less than 'exceeds expectations' in all of his subjects. It was a high goal to have, but not one beyond his capabilities.
Rod was planning on taking his exams very seriously, and so he was slightly irritated when Bella leaned over towards him, practically talking in his ear, asking him why he was sitting next to her. She said that he hadn't done so in the past... was that really the case? He hadn't thought so, but maybe it was...
Rodolphus shrugged, by way of a reply, still half focused on the professor, who was now talking about the structure of the exam they would take in June. "We're going to be married, Bellatrix," he replied, drolly."Best get used to it."
He supposed that spending time together could only help things when the time came for them to be married... unless of course they found they couldn't stand each other. But one thing that Rod found he liked about this arranged marriage, was that all of the cards were on the table. Both Bellatrix and Rodolphus knew what the marriage was, what they wanted from it, what they were required to give; each provided the other with additional wealth, a respectable marriage, and the chance to keep their bloodlines pure; when they had children, Bellatrix's lineage would ensure the Lestrange bloodline remained unsullied by muggle blood.
