Adelaide is a city in Australia and one of Allistair and Anya's favorite places in the entire world.

Likes: Nature, Animals/creatures of all sorts, Herbology, mythology, conspiracy theories, flying, earflap hats, rain, knitting and books.
Dislikes: Brussell Sprouts, black licorice, potions, heliopaths, cold feet, and wrackspurts
Strengths: Befriending creatures, flying, going unnoticed, observation, and memorizing information.
Weaknesses: Picking up on social cues,
Amortentia: Maximum of four smells go here
Dementor: Getting lost in a busy city as a young child.
Boggart: Her mother not remembering who she is (many of the fellow residents of St. Mungo's do not remember family members).
Veritaserum: She'd do anything to be an Animagus so she could be part of the world she loves so much.
Personality: Adelaide is a very odd individual. To say she has her head in the clouds would be an understatement. She is rather awkward in most social situations, until she knows the person really well. In the past, she’d been known as the bookworm who kept to herself and never made conversation unless she was addressed first. However, now that she is in her 6th year, she has decided it would be wise to try to make at least a few friends. Unfortunately, she comes off as a rather peculiar individual and tends to scare potential friends away rather easily with her intense curiosity for the world (both real and mythological) and intense desire to stay true to herself.
Once she breaks the barrier of the initial awkwardness, she is a rather social girl who enjoys the company of others (especially if she can talk about mythology or conspiracy theories with them). When she is on her own, she can usually be seen outside in a tree somewhere reading or scribbling what would seem like unintelligible notes in her notebook. Contrary to her complexion, she actually spends a lot of her time outdoors. She likes to wander through the forbidden forest to see what interesting creatures she can find. Her biggest desire is to become an animagus so she can spend time with the mythological creatures that she swears exist, but up until now, she just can’t quite get the hang of it.
She also enjoys spending time with her mother at St Mungo's and will occasionally spend time with some of the other residents there as well. She enjoys hearing their stories and playing various games with them. Despite her general naive nature, she is an excellent observer. She is quite openminded when it comes to others and rather sociable in situations where she feels comfortable.

Hair color: Long red hair with a bit a natural curl to it. She doesn't style it at all and it is quite frequently messy looking.
Eye color: Emerald green
Facial structure: Adelaide has a pretty small noise, with strong high cheek bones and more a rounded look to her cheeks. When she smiles she gets dimples.
Body structure: Thin and petite. Slight arm muscles from climbing trees but not enough to be significant.
Clothing Choice: She often wears hand-me downs that once belonged to her grandmother. She loves lace and skirts that have long since gone out fashion. She also adores fuzzy (knit) hats.

Mother: Anya Trevelyan (formerly O'Brien), 46, former Herbologist, currently residing in St. Mungo's
Father: Allistair Trevelyan, 48, Archaeologist
Siblings:N/A
Other: An Eagle own named Arturo
History: In 1959 an herbologist named Anya O’Brien was studying poisonous plants and their remedies in the Amazon. At the same time, one Allistair Trevelyan, was also in the Amazon on an archaeological expedition in search of rare artifacts believed to possess an ancient magic. Coincidentally the artifacts were buried near some plants that appeared to be dangerous, so O’Brien was called to the site to survey the problem. While she was there, she met Allistair and they started dating. Within 10 months they moved to Cork, Ireland and got married shortly after. A year later their only child, Adelaide, or Addy as her father likes to call her, was born.
Adelaide was an excessively curious child who enjoys reading about mythological creatures, and was rather disappointed when she did not receive a dragon for her fifth birthday. When she was eight, her mother got a job working for the Ministry of Magic as a dangerous plants specialist and the three of them moved to London, England. A year later, Anya was poisoned by a strange plant from Africa that she had been researching. She was admitted to St. Mungo’s and has been there ever since leaving Allistair to care for their daughter on his own. Without her mother around Addy spent a lot of time on her own while her father was on archaeological expeditions. This resulted in Adelaide’s lack of social activity. It wasn’t that she couldn’t make friends, she just never tried…not with humans anyway. Her extreme shyness was definitely detrimental to her otherwise sociable personality.
This practice continued once she got accepted into Hogwarts at age 11. In fact, her first years at Hogwarts were spent trying to befriend every creature she could find. She would often spend time at the edge of the forbidden forest hoping for such an encounter. Adelaide feels most at home curled up under a tree with a book and a creature friend or two. Now, at age 16 and in her sixth year, Addy has decided that it might be nice to have other people to talk to and has decided to try to become more social towards other humans.
Aside from animals, Addy has an incredible fondness for the extraordinary. She adores anything having to do with mythology and spends a lot of her free time learning everything she possibly can about strange occurrences and creatures. She loves discussing conspiracy theories and could talk for hours on them.

Winter was a cruel mistress. Everything on the grounds was veiled in a layer of white and all of the tree branches seemed to have transformed into icicles. It was almost surreal, like it had jumped out of one of the tattered pages of one of the books that she loved so very much. It was this aspect that drew her in immediately. She felt a sense of longing as she pressed her pale fingers against the cold glass of the window outlining the forms of the trees as if she was painting a picture. At the same time, it was a reminder of how lonely she had become over the years. She watched as the other students threw snowballs and laughed, simply enjoying each others company. After spending the majority of her years at Hogwarts trying to stay isolated, she realized now that she wanted nothing more than to be a part of it all.
She sighed as her gaze shifted from the window to the empty classroom that she had been hiding in. If she wanted friends, she needed to do something about it. "Addy, do you really want it to be like this forever, all alone?" she could hear her father words ringing through her head. What a hypocrite he was. He hadn’t even talked to another witch since the incident with her mother. She bit her lower lip in frustration. She knew he was right…he always was. Her green eyes shifted once more to the forbidden forest. She could never be a part of the world she wanted so badly to belong to, but she could be a part of something else.
Defeated, she made her way towards to the door to the corridor. There was no way she was going to change things if she stayed hidden away in an abandoned classroom, but she definitely wasn’t going to be overly enthusiastic about leaving either. This was her comfort zone and as she stepped into the corridor she could feel the layer of security being stripped from her. She shivered slightly as her nerves got the best of her. All she had to do was find someone to talk to, anyone really, even if it was only for a few minutes. Then she could return once more to the sanctuary of her solitude feeling as if she at least had tried.
She failed to see a single face as she trudged through the corridor. It was as if the entire castle had been abandoned. Where is everyone? Surely they can’t all be outside she thought to herself as her gaze drifted to the floor in front of her. The sun was shining through the windows casting dappled patterns all over the ground. She smiled slightly as she walked through them, her own shadow dancing through them distorting the patterns. As she turned the corner she could see another shadow breaking up the speckled arrangement of light. She continued on at a slightly quicker pace now, desperate for human interaction. She didn’t care who the shadow belonged to, as long as they were willing to talk to her. She could feel a knot growing in her stomach. Whether it was excitement or fear, she couldn’t say, but what was the difference? She was getting close now, so close she could see the owner of the shadow, his head pressed against the glass.
“Are….Are you alright?” she asked nervously. Was it acceptable to just infringe on his privacy like this? It was too late now to question it, the words had already left her lips. She bit down softly once more on her bottom lip as if to punish it for its sudden betrayal.
